Functional & Integrative Medicine for Women in Montrose
If you've left an appointment in Montrose feeling rushed, or been told your labs are normal while you still feel exhausted, foggy, or not like yourself, you're not alone. That experience is one of the most common reasons women find me. I'm Michelle Mullins, a dual board-certified nurse practitioner, and my practice is built around longer visits and real answers.
Close to home, without the rush
My office is in Ridgway, about 30 minutes south of Montrose on Highway 550, at 160 S Amelia St, suite 3. You can be seen there in person, or by secure telehealth from your kitchen table. Plenty of Montrose patients do a first visit in Ridgway and handle most follow up visits online.
Labs are flexible too. They can be drawn in the Ridgway office the same day as your visit, or at a Quest location in Montrose when that is easier. Either way I order them, read them closely, and walk you through what they mean.
When "normal" doesn't feel normal
Standard lab ranges are designed to catch disease. They are not always good at explaining why a 45 year old woman who used to feel strong now feels flat. Functional medicine looks at patterns over time, at how systems interact, and at the early shifts that a quick visit can miss. Integrative medicine keeps conventional diagnosis and prescribing in the mix. Together they give you a fuller explanation and a plan you can act on. More on the approach is on the functional and integrative medicine page.

The membership model, plainly
Arete is a cash-pay membership practice. Instead of billing insurance per visit, you pay a monthly membership. It covers visits in person or online, secure messaging with me, lab ordering and review, a foundational lab panel when clinically appropriate, and sleep care including CBT-I. Specialty labs and medications are separate, and I always confirm costs with you first. Membership is month to month. Arete is unable to accept Medicare or Medicaid at this time. Full details are on the membership page.

What to expect at your first visit
Bring any recent labs, imaging, and a list of medications and supplements. We'll spend real time on your story, from your health history to how you sleep, eat, train, and handle stress. You'll leave with a clear sense of what we're testing and why, and we'll meet again to turn results into a plan.
